I'm going to assume that you've had a Coney dog at least once in your life since you live in Michigan.

The other day, Caddy and I were talking about Red Hots Coney Island in Highland Park closing after 100 years of business. When I started talking about Coney dogs, Caddy stared at me like I was speaking in a foreign language and said, "What's that?"

At first, I thought he was messing with me but he wasn't.

So, I told him that it's a hot dog topped with chili, mustard and onions. Then, do you want to know what he said to me?

He hit me with a, "I thought that was just called a chili dog."

I almost fell off my chair. Dude has lived in Michigan several times throughout his radio career and he's been walking around calling a Coney dog a chili dog.

Get it together, man.

Here's a video on Coney dogs incase you too, need a refresher.

Detroit-style Coney Dogs Are One of America's Favorites

According to PR Newswire, nine out of ten of us believe hot dogs are always a great choice for a meal.

There are several different ways to eat a hot dog and Detroit-style Coney dogs came in at number three on our favorite style hot dog.

New York style took the number one spot. They're pretty plain Jane if you ask me, it's a hot dog topped with steamed onions and yellow mustard.

Chicago style was number two. If you've never had one they're topped with yellow mustard, relish, raw onion, sport peppers, tomato slices, a pickle spear, celery salt and served on a poppy seed bun.
