Rockin’ with Dokken in Michigan for One Night Only
The rumors have been circulating that Don Dokken and George Lynch have reunited and will play together. The tour is on and a Michigan date is already booked.
The band Dokken might have been one of the biggest of the '80s if only Don Dokken and George Lynch could have gotten along. The melodic singer was accused of having an ego far bigger than his talent and the acrobatic guitarist was called a miserable human being.
A few years older now, the two have put aside at least some of their differences and have reunited for concerts. The original lineup of Dokken, including bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer Mick Brown, did a brief sold-out tour of Japan in 2016. Don and George have been hinting at shows together ever since, and it finally happened. Watch the video below to see George Lynch play the Dokken classics "Tooth & Nail," "When Heaven Comes Down," and "Kiss of Death" with Don Dokken's band on stage in June of 2021 at the Live United Live Music Festival in Pennsylvania. More collaborative shows are on the calendar with two August dates in Texas, Michigan in September, an October show in Illinois and two December dates at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood.
The shows are not at full-on Dokken reunion, but rather the 2021 version of Dokken will open the show, followed by George Lynch & the Electric Freedom Band (his new version of Lynch Mob). If the Pennsylvania shows are any indication, it looks like Mr. Scary will probably be joining his former singer at the end of the night for a set of favorites from back in the day.
