No doubt When Michigan's fall colors are out, it is like God took a paint brush out and painted the scenery in our state.  Many people plan trips around the state so they can enjoy the beauty. This year might be a bit tricky for some of those trips.

Every year timing our fall color's peaking can be difficult, this year in Michigan the colors could come early.

Drivers around Michigan have reported to M-Live.com that they are starting to see slight to moderate colors showing across the state. Chilly temperatures in the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Michigan will keep the fall color show developing. Next week's weather forecast calls for a bit of a warm up and that could slow down the color changes in areas of the state.

Right now the map of Michigan's fall colors looks a bit like this...

In the Upper Peninsula peak should be September 27 - October 3

In Northern Lower Michigan October 3rd through the 10th should be peak color watching.

Mid Michigan will find October 10 through the 17th as peak time and for lower Michigan, your colors will peak October 17th -October 24th.

M-Live's Mark Torregrossa and Milt Klingerensmith report that these dates represent peak fall color coming about three days earlier than usual.
