As the bowl season begins this weekend, Ferris State University Bulldogs will play for a Division II national title.

According to M-Live, the Bulldogs will play Valdosta State for the Division II title on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The game will be played in McKinney,Texas at the brand new McKinney ISD Stadium.

This will be the first title game appearance for Ferris State in their history.  They have been in the regional finals the past three years.

The team made it to Texas by beating Minnesota State 42-25 last Saturday.   They are currently 15-0 on the season and won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Valdosta State is no strangers to the title game.  This game will be their fifth time in the title game since 2002.  Valdosta State last won the Division II title in 2012.

This year has been a successful one for the sports program in Big Rapids as the Bulldogs basketball team won the Division II title in hoops back in March.
