Floating Christmas Tree Lights Up Michigan Lake and Makes Holidays Bright
What do you do when you've decorated the house inside and out? Start a new tradition of a floating Christmas tree.
Fishing hooks meet ornament hooks just North of Sleeping Bear Dunes as Glen Arbor resident Frank Siepker Jr. floats his Christmas boat on Glen Lake.
MLive reports that Frank got the idea when he saw the effort his wife put into decorating the inside of their home for the holidays and he wanted to do something special for her. Three batteries and a solar panel power almost 1200 LED lights on this natural Michigan tree, making it visible to those who drive over the nearby M-22 bridge.
Now, magi and mariners alike can get to the manger by boat following the star off the starboard bow.
