Today is the 46th Anniversary of The Final Day of Woodstock.  I wasn't alive for it as I wasn't born  for another 7 years.  Today I remembered the first time I heard about Woodstock.

The third day began with a set by Joe Cocker.  He finished off his set with a classic version of "With A Little Help From My Friends".    That song, as were many of the songs from the festival, were featured on an album that became the soundtrack for the documentary film "Woodstock".

My first taste of Woodstock would have to have been listening to that album.  My Mom had a copy of it.  I remember my Brother and I listening to it on my Dad's old turntable.  I just don't remember which song.  It was either "With A Little Help From My Friends" or "Dance To The Music" by Sly and The Family Stone.

Of course, "With a Little Help From My Friends" became the theme for "The Wonder Years".  I eventually listened to the album more in the late 80's due to that song being everywhere then.

The album was an interesting listen for my age at the time.  I'm glad I got to hear it when I did.  It was one of the few actual rock albums that my parents had.   You can say in a way it helped educate me on Classic Rock or at least helped start me on the path.

I have gone on to have seen parts of the film and other documentaries talking about what went on there.  I wasn't there but I'm glad there is a document of what went on. A very historic part of rock and music history that was 46 years ago.
