Let this be a learning moment; never leave the scene of an accident, even if you're not the at-fault driver. 32-year-old Justin Votaw of Fort Wayne, Indiana was sentenced to three years home detention, four years probation, and two years of licence suspension after a three-vehicle crash in February of last year that took the lives of two people. He got off light, considering he was facing more than 16 years in prison. The vehicle driven by 23-year-old Jonny Tracy burst in to flames following the crash, killing him and his 24-year-old passenger, Alisa Arseneau. According to an article, Votaw told police he wasn't sure why he left the scene on foot, abandoning the car he'd borrowed from a friend, and leaving his passenger behind in the vehicle. He also never reported the accident to authorities.

Did he panic? Was he under the influence? Was he holding? Bit of a head-scratcher, amiright?
