Friday the 13th: Restored, Remastered 40th Anniversary Screening
The original terrifying film that started it all returns to theaters remastered, along with with a special feature showing the ground-breaking gory special effects.
How old were you the first time you saw it? How scared were you? Surely you remember the hockey mask, the machete and the unforgettable whisper sounds that accompanied Jason while he was stalking his teenage victims, seeking his revenge.
You haven't forgotten the story, have you? Years ago, a young boy named Jason Voorhees drowned, and a series of vicious murders occurred thereafter. Despite locals’ warnings that the place has a death curse, the new crew continues on to relaunch the camp. One by one they find out how unlucky Friday the 13th can be, as they are stalked by a violent killer.
The kids from Camp Crystal Lake would have grown children of their own by now, but age hasn't slowed down Jason Vorhees. For its 40th anniversary, Friday the 13th has been remastered and restored and will be shown in movie theaters this October. (For some, going to an indoor movie theater is scary enough.) Fathom Events presents this restored edition of the film, accompanied by a special featurette, Secrets Galore Behind the Gore, a look at some of the groundbreaking gory great moments in the original Friday the 13th.
