The saga continues in the world of legal recreational marijuana in Michigan.  Let's recap...In November, voters decided to legalize but there was nothing in place for users to purchase legally and wouldn't be until, at least, 2020.  In the meantime cities and municipalities had the opportunity through their governing bodies to place restrictions on whether or not to even allow the sale in their areas.  Portage recently followed in those footsteps and just last night the Kalamazoo City Commission also put on the brakes with a wait and see attitude leaving legal users to either grow their own or add to the now exploding illegal market.

However, according to an article on clickondetroit.com, Governor Whitmer has established the Marijuana Regulatory Agency or the MRA within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs or LARA.  This will, at least, set up a framework by which the new law and the business community can move forward in a way that will legally serve the public and allow businesses to thrive.  Check out more of the story by clicking HERE.
