Update On Kalamazoo’s New Pro Basketball Team: Kalamazoo Galaxy
Back in October of 2022, there was an announcement made that the Galaxy would be calling Kalamazoo home for the upcoming season. The Galaxy would be joining The Basketball League (TBL), a basketball league that has teams all throughout the country, and where they will be playing in the Midwest Conference.
As the season grows closer and closer more information about the team is coming out as they begin to hire coaches, sign players to the roster, and release their schedule, jerseys, and tickets. We now know where the Galaxy will play their home games, what their schedule and jerseys look like, and when we can meet the team.
Let's start with the things that everybody has been waiting months to know, where the team will play. There are only a handful of options that the team could've used but I believe they used the most efficient option. The Kalamazoo Galaxy will join the K-Wings in calling Wings Event Center home.
Now that we know where the home games will take place, when will they be playing there and how much are tickets? Galaxy's home opener is March 9th against the Glass City Wranglers at 7 p.m. The Galaxy also has home games on March 12th, 16th and 30th, April 12th, 13th, 23rd, and 27th, and lastly May 12th, 13th, 20th, and 23rd.
Tickets are between $12 and $125 for adults, $7 and $122 for children, and $9 and $122 for seniors, students, and military. VIP tables are available to purchase for $125. All games will be broadcasted on The Basketball League TV(TBLTV) and does have a team pass fee of $40 and a league pass fee of $100.
There is a sneak peek of the jerseys available on the website and man are they OUT OF THIS WORLD! They totally embody the space theme while also paying homage to things that are unique to Kalamazoo and making this OUR team. They have 5 different jerseys, two of them are black and gold and one of them says "The Zoo". The other 3 jerseys are a white and teal home jersey, a teal and purple jersey for away, and lastly a purple, dark blue, and black jersey as an alternate.
This Saturday there is a Meet and Greet with the Kalamazoo Galaxy out at the Crossroads mall. Fans will have an opportunity to meet the team and get autographs from the team as they'll be at the mall from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 25th.
