Kalamazoo And the Lions Last Playoff Win

As we get ready for Lions vs Seahawks on Saturday talk always goes back to 1991; the year the Lions last won a playoff game when they beat the Cowboys.  I reflected back on what was going on in the world that year but what was going on in Kalamazoo in 1991?

-It was my second year hosting the Rocker Morning Show.

- The area code was 616.

-The GM plant was still going.

-Judas Priest, Yes, Scorpions, Jane's Addiction, Megadeath and Queensryche all played Wings Stadium and Pearl Jam played the State Theater.

-Then Mayor, and Rocker Morning Show adversary, Ed Annen got beat in the mayoral election by Beverly Moore.  Luckily for him, we made him famous and he won the next election.  But before he got beat by Beverly, he got beat by the Rocker Morning Show losing a bet on the Pistons/Celtics playoff series and had to proclaim May 24th 1991 "Rocker Morning Show Day" in the city of Kalamazoo.  If fact, according to the proclamation, the Friday before Memorial Day will forever be "Rocker Morning Show Day".  We should try and cash in on that somehow!
