With warmer weather around the corner, the itch to hit up their local farmers market must be scratched... and Kalamazoo is adding a brand new, safer way for you to support your favorite local vendors! The Kalamazoo Farmers Market will be operating a Drive-Thru Market every Saturday beginning May 2nd from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Simply place your order with your vendors ahead of time, and your fresh produce, artisan breads and cheeses, and  more from participating vendors will be waiting for you at the market. The People's Food Coop Market Manager, Katelyn Bekken said of the enterprise, quote, "Creating food access and supporting our vendors as our mission. And doing this in a way that prioritizes the health and safety of all of our Market participants is critical, and it’s definitely going to look different than the Market day experience we’re all used to." And for those of you who are looking forward to a more traditional market experience, Bekken went on to say, "Everyone can do their part to support a healthy Market by washing and sanitizing their hands, wearing their masks, minimizing person-to-person contact, keeping that 6 foot distance from others, not gathering or socializing, and not touching vendors’ products before purchasing. We’ll have all these tips on our website.”

Opening Day of the 2020 Market season has been postponed to Saturday, June 6.
