Some of Nashville's best writers will perform the songs that became mega-hits for Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton and others at a special concert with Kyle Jennings.

After graduating high school, Kyle Jennings left his hometown of Kalamazoo to play hockey. He made it as far as the NAHL before a string of concussions made him hang up the skates and pick up a guitar. After garnering a rowdy, enthusiastic following playing local bars and clubs all around Southwest Michigan, Jenning put Kalamazoo in the rear-view mirror again- this time headed for Music City. Now, y'all are going to have a country Christmas at Kalamazoo State Theatre as Kyle Jennings is bringing some of his Nashville friends back home for an award-winning songwriter's showcase.

It’s really a unique and special experience. It’s a little bit of comedy, and little bit of music, some wild stories, and 100% entertainment! Shows like these are going on in dozens of locations every night in Nashville. It’s one of the most defining experiences of Music City.

You may not recognize the names on the marquee, but you know the songs. Wynn Varble, Tony Arata, and Gary Hannan are a part of the Nashville songwriters' scene that gives country's biggest stars their biggest hit songs. Garth Brooks' "The Dance," is not really Garth's song at all- Tony Arata wrote it. Of course, most people associate songs with the artists who made them famous, but these are the songwriter behind hits like Brad Paisley's "Waitin' On a Woman," "A Little More Country Than That," cut by Easton Corbin and Joe Nichols' factual "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off."

Many of the hits I loved from country radio, I fell in love with the authenticity of the original performances by the writers and hearing the stories behind the songs. It’s what made me fall in love with songwriting and the songwriting process and I wanted to bring that experience to Kalamazoo.

-Kyle Jennings

This special show will take place one night only at the historic Kalamazoo State Theatre.
