The Intersection in Grand Rapids is a well known music venue that’s been around since 1972, and moved to its current larger location in 2003. With a capacity of 1800 they regularly feature national acts of all different genres. Grand Rapids local music scene has always been very active. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, the last performance at the Intersection had been 483 days, but all that changed yesterday with their first live performance.

Their first show was presented at Elevation inside the venue, with fans lined up at the door ready to for some live music. That’s the first of the three day run of entertainment. They are doing an outdoor show today and an inside show on Saturday. They are taking precautions to keep everyone safe by offering hand sanitizer and requiring staff to wash hands often.

“We just ask that everybody follows the CDC guideline applicable to them. Please don’t enter the venue if you are sick or have any kind of symptoms,” said Scott Hammontree, the operating partner and talent buyer with The Intersection. “If you do become sick while here at the venue, please ask the manager on duty and we’ll refund your ticket and you can come to a different show.”

They have been booking talent and have a few shows scheduled already. Some of the shows coming up:

Tonight it’s Country performer Chase Rice, with Brendon Monroe opening

Saturday Night it’s Blunts and Blondes, with opening acts Antiserum, Bawldy, and Attak of the Chads.
