Live in Concert: Heart, Aerosmith and John Mellencamp
Ann and Nancy Wilson headline this week's Live in Concert with special guests Aerosmith live from Germany and John Mellencamp recorded at Madison Square Garden.
Great things were happening for Heart in 2012. Coming off a successful 2011 tour with Def Leppard, the work paid off in the studio as Fanatic, the band's 14th studio album, became their 12th to chart in the top 25. Ann and Nancy Wilson got stars on the Hollywood walk of fame, but the biggest honor was tears from Robert Plant when Heart played "Stairway to Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors' tribute to Led Zeppelin.
This week on Live in Concert, a show recorded at Caesar’s Colosseum in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on July 28th, 2012. It was the final show of the Fanatic tour, and the band left absolutely nothing on stage. You'll hear early favorites like "Magic Man," "Barracuda," and "Crazy on You," along with the big 80s hits "Alone" and "What About Love." The band knew by this time they were set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame early in 2013 and the confidence shows. Don't miss this one.
We've also got Aerosmith from a festival show in Germany in 1997 doing "Dream On," "Cryin'," and "Sweet Emotion." Brand new this week, hear John Mellencamp sing a pair of Bob Dylan classics at Madison Square Garden in 1992. Dylan had always been an influence, and the pair would go on to co-headline 11 shows together in 2010 become cherished friends. Rounding out the show this week is Golden Earring recorded at an Amsterdam concert in their homeland of The Netherlands, September 9, 1992.
Live shows are beginning to pop up on the calendar, but we've always got the classics from the vault every Saturday night at 8 on Live in Concert.
