If you haven't heard there's a battle taking place at the State Theatre downtown Kalamazoo on April 14th.  Nope, it's not boxing or wrestling or MMA.  It's the Beatles vs The Rolling Stones.  Lennon & McCartney vs Jagger & Richards.  Sgt Pepper vs Sticky Fingers.  This will certainly be a unique event and now we find out it has a local tie-in that "sounds" pretty cool.

The Kalamazoo Loy Norrix High school String Quartet with be accompanying the other musicians on stage.  Chanel Wilson, Cassidy Conley, Hannah Terrian and Anthony Porco will lend some strings to the show.  In fact, we know which songs they'll be part of: "Eleanor Rigby" of course, "A Day In The Life", "Hello Goodbye", "Yesterday", "Hey Jude", "As Tears Go By" and "Ruby Tuesday".  Andy Nagle from Loy Norrix who sent us the press release also pointed out that the producers of the show looked for musicians who could hold their own with a rock band on stage and these players certainly live up to expectations.
