McKelly’s Valentine’s Day Fails

One of the many things I wish I was better at in my marriage is being more romantic. It's not enough that my wife Karla knows how much I love her, it's in the special ways that I show it.  And when I say it's not enough, it's not that she's putting pressure on me to be more romantic, it's that I know I should show her more.

Alas, I have failed; sometimes miserably with the best laid plans.  One year I thought it would be really romantic if I made her dinner.  I think you can guess what happened. Needless to say we ended up getting take-out.  Another time I hired a horse & carriage...anybody see the Seinfeld episode with Kramer & Rusty???

But fellas, the biggest mistake you can make (and I've managed to make it more than once cuz I don't learn good) is to do something special that's ok and then say: "ya know what I was going to do?" followed by a description of something really cool that she really would've liked but you couldn't be bothered to do.
