Meijer Has Again Changed Their Hours of Operation

When the Covid-19 situation began we saw what the human race does best, hoard essential items and deplete shelves and cause chaos and shortages of items. It's something we're getting really good at. Because of the fact that so many items were basically gone on arrival, Meijer, along with many other stores had to put a limit on certain items to ensure everyone had the ability to get them.

Along with item limitations, it was crucial that the store be given the proper time to not only stock the shelves in a safe environment, but allow for proper sanitary measures to be taken. Even going to the Gull Road or West Main Meijer was like walking onto a battlefield with isles of empty shelves. It was around this time 6 weeks ago Meijer changed their hours of operation to properly keep up with shopping demands.

As of today they're altering hours and restrictions that were set in place to keep shoppers safe. Among those changes are the following:

• Stores will be closed from midnight and will open at 6 a.m. local time.
• Meijer Express convenience stores will close at 11 p.m. and open at 6 a.m.; pay-at-the-pump fuel sales will still be available 24 hours a day.
• Shopping times for senior citizens and customers with chronic health conditions  have been extended on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 a.m. Pharmacies will still be open at 7 a.m. on those days.
• Shopping times for essential service workers and Meijer team members are also being extended on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 a.m Pharmacies will still be opening at 7 a.m. on those days.

Meijer's website describes Essential Workers to be, "all medical workers, first responders and law enforcement. Senior citizens are considered age 60 and older. Meijer is asking its customers and the public to please respect the times for these important groups."
