Meijer Surprises Shoppers With $1,000 Shopping Sprees [Video]

It's the Midwestern holiday tradition that we all hope to be selected to participate in someday, Meijer's annual event where they surprise shoppers with a lot of help for the holidays.

For the sixth annual "Very Merry Meijer," Meijer gave unsuspecting customers $1,000 shopping sprees as they were shopping in the aisles. They selected one customer from each of their 247 stores. Two Meijer employees at each location received a $100 gift card.

In prior years, Meijer's "Very Merry Meijer" surprised shoppers as they checked out by paying for their entire cart. This year's event came with the $1,000 shopping spree twist.

As always, the video is filled with shocked reactions ranging from "are you serious?" to tears and lots of jaws on the floor.
