Mid American Conference To Participate In New Bowl Game For 2020
Mid-American Conference teams will have the chance to play in a new bowl game in 2020 that will be played in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
According to the story from M-Live, the league announced the new bowl that will feature teams from the MAC, Sun Belt and Conference USA.
The game will be called the Myrtle Beach Bowl and will be played on the campus of Coastal Carolina University at Brooks Stadium.
With the new game, There will be six guaranteed bowl bids for the Mid-American Conference.
The league still has a secondary tie in with the Quick Lane Bowl that is played at Ford Field in Detroit. There is also one game with ESPN that can be determined by the network.
Each of the three conferences that are set for the new game will play in the game 4 times between 2020 and 2025.
To qualify to play in a bowl game teams must have a .500 record for the season with 6 wins or 5 wins if there isn't enough teams with a 6-6 record.
This gives the Broncos and their conference another game so there won't be a repeat of last season. The Broncos and Buffalo both missed out on bowl bids despite having the wins to qualify.
