I'm trying to remember at what age I became aware of the political landscape and was able to make an educated decision.  I'm also just trying to remember what I did with my keys.  But back to the subject... some members of the house in Lansing have proposed lowering the voting age in Michigan to 16.  Really?  16!  I just want 16 year olds to drive better.

According to a story in the Detroit Free Press, this proposal would certainly be a long shot since it would mean changing the Michigan state and federal constitutions.  Not to mention we'd be allowing 16 year olds to vote.  Frankly, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with most 18 year olds voting and GET OFF MY LAWN!!!  Sorry, had a moment there.  Some lawmakers are attributing the idea to the recent outpouring of high school student activism and pointing to the fact that 16 year olds have jobs and pay taxes but don't have the right to participate in shaping the present and the future.  THEY'RE 16 YEARS OLD!!!

Anyway, you can check out some of the rest of the story by clicking HERE.
