OK...So...There's a really good chance an extreme amount of hypocrisy is about to be all up in this business.  It's very well known that I was not a big fan of math in high school; more specifically algebra.  In fact, I was really good at math in grade school and can still do my times tables at a speed which makes them indistinguishable. Alright, alright maybe that's not the math we're talking about.  Nevertheless, with the possibility of math expectations changing in Michigan public schools, I find myself inclined to defend math and keep it a priority.

Personally, I don't think we should discontinue something just because kids don't like it.  The list of things teenagers don't like but need is endless.  Now, however, Michigan lawmakers are introducing a bill that would give students a choice.  In an article on 9and10news.com, some math teachers actually agree that high school kids should have a choice.  Get more of the story by clicking HERE.
