Get ready to rock out with a band whose drummer played a pivotal role in the formation of one of the most recognizable metal bands of all time. Airforce, a Classic Rock/ NWOBHM band from London, UK features Doug Sampson, the original drummer for Iron Maiden. Although Maiden hosted a few drummers before their solo album on was released in 1980, Sampson was featured on numerous recordings including the infamous "Soundhouse Tapes" and the "Metal For Muthas" album. Sampson was crucial in Maiden receiving attention from labels, as he was the drummer from 78'-79'.

Along with Chop Pitman, Tony Hatton, and Flavio Lino, they make up the hard hitting band Airforce, who are about to play their first show in Michigan. Thursday, April 9th at Papa Pete's in Kalamazoo will be the first show a part of their U.S. 2020 Tour. Playing along them with be Revelations, a tribute to Iron Maiden from Grand Rapids, along with Empiricist and The Rock and Roll Bad Guys. FOR TICKETS & INFO TO THE SHOW, VISIT THE EVENT PAGE.

We sat down with them last year and look forward to catching up with them again this Spring. Here's the video for their song "Sniper" featuring vocals from orignial Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di'anno:
