It's kind of weird nowadays when you hear fireworks going off at times of the year that we never did before.  That's what the legalization of fireworks in Michigan will do.  Recently, however, cities and towns have taken it upon themselves to put some restrictions on the use of consumer grade fireworks that, up until now, could be used any day.

In an article published here back in January, Kalamazoo has determined the only days that fireworks will be legal to use.  As we approach Memorial Day, remember that you can blow things off Saturday and Sunday until 11:45pm but not at all on Memorial Day itself.  Actually when you look at it in totality, there are only 7-10 days in the whole year that fireworks can be used.  It's almost not even necessary to legalize them in the first place except, ya know, the whole legality thing.
