It's not your imagination, the number of robocalls has doubled in the last 2 years. Michigan's Attorney General is planning to do something about it.

"Nothing is more annoying, more intrusive, uninvited and unwelcome than robocalls." I couldn't agree more. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is backing up those words by joining the Federal Trade Commission and 25 other states in announcing a sweeping crackdown on illegal robocalls, including targeting operations around the U.S. responsible for more than a billion robocalls nationwide.

It’s time to put a stop to this public nuisance. Our state’s residents and the American people have had enough. I’m happy to join forces with the FTC and several other states to combat the exponential surge in robocalls around the country and bring broader awareness to the ways consumers can fight back.

You get them all day long, right? Offer of credit card payoffs, last-chance vehicle warranty renewals, dream vacations; it doesn't matter if you are on the "no call" list or not, these calls keep coming. They are annoying and illegal.

While "Operation Call It Quits" begins, you can get more information about how to block unwanted calls, report robocalls and be sure your number is on the National Do Not Call Registry here.
