Your old radio, cassette, cd or mp3 player can keep pets company at the SPCA of Southwest Michigan.

It's not jail, but it's not home. While dogs and cats wait to be taken to their forever home,  they sit side-by-side stalls at the SPCA. Come to think of it, if you added a computer in each area, it might look a lot like your office. Think of your workspace- it's better with your favorite radio station, right? (Thanks for listening.) You can make these dogs' days better by adding music to their lives by donating your unwanted or out of date technology.

We've all got an old radio with a busted antenna in the basement that gets, like, one station. These dogs don't care what that one station is. Grab that box of compact discs you've been promising to bring to Goodwill and give 'em to the pups- they'll listen to Hootie & the Blowfish. Everything is better with music and the SPCA is putting out the call for you to share yours and clean up some of your clutter at the same time. On March 22, they shared this message on their Facebook page:

We are seeking old technology for new enrichment options for our dogs and cats while they are here at our shelter. Some of the items we are in need of are CD players, classical music CDs, speakers, MP3 players, and Boomboxes, etc. We know that most of you have these items laying around collecting dust. Please donate them so they can be put to use to help our animal population be less stressed and more relaxed. You can drop off donations anytime during our open hours, which are Monday through Friday from 11am to 7pm and Saturday from 11am to 4pm."

They say music can soothe the savage beast. These beasts are far from savage but they'd love for you to bring them some music.
