Filmmaker Jordan Peele has a highly anticipated and secretive movie in the works. Word has broken that Kalamazoo College alum Steven Yeun has landed a starring role.

Peele's credits include Get Out and Us. The future project is slated for a July 2022 release.

Yeun broke big playing the role of Glen in the Walking Dead and earned an Acadamy Award nomination for Miniri. Variety reports:

Fresh off an Oscar nomination for his critically acclaimed role in A24’s family drama “Minari,” Steven Yeun is being eyed to star in Jordan Peele’s next film.

Though the premise — even the genre — is being kept under wraps, the cast is also set to include Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya. Peele is writing and directing the movie, which is expected to debut on July 22, 2022.

Yeun, despite his star power, has kept close to K College including crafting a video message the school has on its admissions page.

The actor's Oscar nod has brought him lots of mainstream media attention including the April 2021 cover of GQ. The feature story gives a nod to Yeun's K College days and we can only guess where in town his rental was after reading this:

After high school, Yeun attended Kalamazoo College, a tiny liberal arts school where he eventually lived in a “disgusting” party house with a few of the basketball players and once lit a couch on fire. It was there he fell into improv comedy, which gave him a new medium with which to express himself. He graduated with degrees in psychology and befriending white people and decided to move to Chicago, following in the footsteps of comedian and fellow Kalamazoo alum Jordan Klepper, whose younger sister had been Yeun's neighbor in the dorms.

We can't wait to see Steven Yeun take another starring role no matter what Peele's film turns out to be.
