This Pure Michigan Playlist is Your Summer Road Trip Soundtrack

As the state opens fully for summer travel, Pure Michigan has published a six hour playlist of (mostly) Michigan artists that is a perfect accompaniment.

You might not think Bob Seger, Stevie Wonder, Kid Rock, Aretha Franklin, and Greta Van Fleet belong on the same playlist, but these artists all have Michigan roots. You'll find roots music, folk, soul, hip hop and rock and roll on the Pandora Pure Michigan playlist. The eclectic assortment of songs was curated with summer road trips and adventures in mind by the staff of Pure Michigan.

Summer road trips are a quintessential part of a Pure Michigan summer, and the right music can really enhance that summertime vibe. We’re excited to share this Pure Michigan playlist with Michiganders, and visitors from around the world, so they can enjoy the tunes that will get them in the mood for warm weather fun and create summer memories that will last for years.

This is not the first time Pure Michigan and Michigan.org have not only recommended the ideal places to discover in the Mitten, but provided music for the journey. In 2019, they published a Soundcloud playlist designed as "a soothing compilation album that invites listeners to take a virtual, sunrise-to-sunset tour of the state from coast to coast as interpreted by some of Michigan’s most talented musicians. Organically inspired, the album is composed using signature ambient sounds of nature captured from 10 Michigan State Parks throughout the peninsulas—from gentle streams to rolling waves and indigenous birds to a variety of Michigan’s natural elements. Pure Sounds of Michigan will send you on a transformational trek to a pure state of mind."

The  latest summer soundtrack not only sounds better when you're not getting your headphones tangled up in your mask, it is endorsed by the Governor.
