It was the year that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers played Live Aid. Hear them at the top of their game in 1985, Saturday night on Live in Concert on RKR.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were a success right from the jump with "American Girl" and "Breakdown" from their self-titled debut album in 1979. By the time they put out their sixth record, "Southern Accents," the band was firing on all cylinders and Tom was all over MTV as the Mad Hatter in the video for "Don't Come Around Here No More." Forty-two shows were booked across the United States, and this week on Live In Concert, you'll hear 10 songs recorded in front of a sold-out crowd at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on August 7, 1985.

You also get classic performances from The Doors at the Hollywood Bowl in 1968, with the full 8-minutes-plus of "Light My Fire," and "Hello, I Love You." We'll fast-forward to Las Vegas for Aerosmith recorded at The Joint in Las Vegas and hear Bon Jovi on the Keep the Faith tour from '92.

It doesn't look like live in-person concerts will be booked anytime soon, so turn up your radio and enjoy these classic performances. Saturday nights rock with Live in Concert, every week at 8 pm, exclusively on Kalamazoo's Rock Station 107.7 RKR.
