CNN reports that Dan Haggerty star of the 70's show, "Grizzly Adams" has died at the age of 74.

The show began as a film called, "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" released in 1974.   In 1977 NBC turned it into a show with the same name. It lasted for two seasons.

The character later returned in a TV movie in 1982.

After the show, Haggerty went on to horror movies and outdoor themed films.  He also opened a restaurant in L.A. in 1991.

He will always be remembered as the 19th century mountain man who cared for wild animals.
