The Palace Of Auburn Hills is set to close after Bob Seger plays there one last time on September 23rd.  As the venue closes,  I will look back at some of the shows I have had the chance to see at the arena.  Next up Rage Against The Machine In 1999.

This was a show that I was lucky to have had the chance to see.   I ended up going alone as I had nobody to go with.  I eventually met up with one of my co-workers at the time and we watched what turned out to be a pretty intense show.

The opener for this show was the band At The Drive In.   If I remember right many of the fans in attendance were not liking these guys.   You could hear a lot of boos from the crowd.    I can't find a set list of theirs so have no clue what they ended up playing.

This was during the time of the release of the album, "Battle Of Los Angeles".  Many of the songs were from that album along with their other two releases.   They also performed their cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad".  Check out the full setlist from the show here.

The only thing that really sticks in my mind from the show other than the music, is fans were trying to get on the main floor.   Off and on through out people were jumping the guard rails and running onto the main floor.   A few times there were a few people chased by security and ushers and escorted out.

This show was what you would expect a Rage Against the Machine show to be and I was not disappointed.

I was unable to find any video or audio from this show but here is video from a show during that tour.
