Amazon Making Massive Change To Packages Delivered In Michigan & Ohio
Amazon has come a long way since its humble beginnings to being, becoming one of the largest companies in the entire world, and a service that pretty much everybody uses. Although it may subsequently be responsible for the closing of many stores, the convenience of being able to order anything at the drop of a dime and getting it within 24 to 48 hours is all unheard of by any other company and something we never would’ve thought possible back in the 90s.
But with the popularity and the amount of people that have been using Amazon's shipping service, the company felt the need to make a major change in how they ship their products which is going to affect Michigan and Ohio packages going forward.
Amazon recently put out a press release about a major change you’ll see in your packages that are delivered:
No More Plastic
We’re constantly inventing and thinking big to make our packaging small. We want to ensure that customers receive their items undamaged while using as little packaging as possible to avoid waste, and prioritizing recyclable materials.
That's right, according to the company you'll notice paper instead of plastic in your package:
The removal of 95% of our plastic air pillows is another step in our path to avoid and reduce packaging—and part of our multi-year effort to remove plastic delivery packaging from North America fulfillment centers. To date, this will be Amazon’s largest plastic packaging reduction effort in North America and will avoid nearly 15 billion plastic air pillows annually.
Are My Packages Safe?
Amazon claims that the paper filler is made from 100% recycled content and says it offers the same, if not better protection for packages delivered. So it seems like the change will be better for the environment and orders.
