The Lake Orion community is in shock after the announcement that Anita‘s Kitchen, a very popular small locally owned chain on the east side of the state, announced that they’re Lake Orion location would be closing abruptly and permanently.

>They made the announcement early Sunday, leaving no opportunity for guests to enjoy their Popular Lebanese food one last time.

Although the locations in Ferndale and Detroit remain open, their Lake Orion location, which sat in a historic building dating back to the late 1800s, has shut down. An announcement they made on Facebook explained just how much they appreciated the support from the community.

After several wonderful years of serving this incredible community, we must share the difficult news that Anita’s Kitchen will be closing our Lake Orion location, effective immediately. The support we’ve received from our guests and neighbors has been truly humbling.

They went on to praise their team before vaguely explaining the quick decision:

Your loyalty, kindness, and enthusiasm have meant the world to us, and our amazing team has been honored to be a part of this journey. An opportunity has presented itself that has allowed us to make a thoughtful business decision that aligns with our long-term goals.

They did make it a point to address some worries that people in the comment section had about their staff. The current staff for the Lake Orion location were offered jobs at their Ferndale and Detroit locations, and if that was unable to be doable, they were negotiating severance pay with each individual team member who is affected by the Shutdown.
