The Chicago White Sox have announced that basketball great, Bill Walton will join the broadcast for the game on August 16th.

According to the Chicago Tribune,  Walton will join the play by play voice, Jason Benetti in the booth for the White Sox game in Anaheim against the Angels.

The two have worked together before calling college basketball games for ESPN at the Maui Invitational last November.  Walton will sit in for White Sox regular color analyst, Steve Stone who will be off for the series in Anaheim.

It will be interesting to see what Walton does calling baseball and how much he knows about the actual game.  Whatever happens it should make for an interesting broadcast for the White Sox.    The White Sox are currently in third place in the American League Central Standings.

The game will be broadcast in Chicago on NBC Sports Chicago on Friday night, August 16th.
