The Tigers were eager to put four straight losses behind them, and a four run, 4th inning got them well on the way. In fact, the Tigers had one hit or more in each of the first six innings, in their Sunday afternoon matchup with the Chicago White Sox. The Sox would cut the Tigers lead to three in the top of the 5th. But the Tigers would answer right back with a two run double from Iglesias, scoring Aduci and Hicks, and the Tigers would lead 7-2. The Sox would tack on another run in the 6th, but the Tiger bullpen would hold on for the 7-3 win.

Jordan Zimmerman pitched 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits and 1 home run. He would record 2 walks and 5 strikeouts as well.  The Tigers’ 14 hit attack was led by Alex Avila and Jose Iglesias. Iglesias would record 3 RBI’s and Avila would go 3 for 4. Meanwhile, Miguel Cabrera is expected to return for the Tigers, in Tuesday’s game versus the Indians.

The Tigers climb back to the .500 mark on the season, 12-12, and salvage one game in their three game series with the White Sox. The Tigers return to Comerica Park, Monday night where they open up a four game series with their division rival, Cleveland Indians. The Tigers will send Daniel Norris(1-2, 4.71 ERA) to the mound, to face off against Cleveland starter,  Trevor Bauer(2-2, 6.26 ERA). Coverage begins at 6:45 PM, on 95.3 WBCK.
