One of the biggest Detroit sports stars of the 90s is going to be making his way to Kalamazoo this summer, as the Kalamazoo Growlers have announced that for one day only, Cecil Fielder from the Detroit Tigers will be making an appearance at Homer Striker Field.

This comes one year after they signed Brandon Inge to a one-day coaching contract, and Cecil Fielder will be participating in all the fun that the Kalamazoo Growlers have lined up.

In a Facebook post, they were excited to announce this massive game, as well as some of Cecil’s career highlights:

OFFICIAL: Tigers legend, Cecil Fielder, is coming to Kalamazoo! Big Daddy is signed for one day only on Friday, July 31 with a postgame fireworks show to follow. He will sign postgame autographs (last year's line took nearly 2 hours after the game). Fielder is a 3x All-Star, 2x Silver Slugger and led the American League in RBI's for three straight seasons (1990-92). Fielder was one of the most desired former Tigers via fan surveys the previous two years. This is one of the most highly demanded theme nights of the summer.

Going to Tiger Stadium as a kid and finally seeing Cecil Fielder play in person was a blast, as well as seeing him hit a home run in Chicago when they played the White Sox on my 13th birthday.

He is one of my favorite Detroit Tigers players of all time and is truly a legend, so this game is definitely going to be a must-see attraction for any sports fan in the area.

The growlers announced the best way to not miss out on this game on their Facebook post, if you want to get tickets as soon as possible.
