Rollup Ice Cream Closes After Seven Years, Cluck & Moo Takes Over Gull Road Location

Rollup Ice Cream and eatery on Gull Road in Kalamazoo will be closing down, and in its place will be the Cluck & Moo, a food truck that specializes in chicken tenders and smash burgers, which will now have a brick-and-mortar location.

The announcement was made on the Kalamazoo Menu Facebook page by the owners who, for the last seven years, have made their dream come true. They announced that the 27th would possibly be their last Chicken Tender Tuesday; however, they said that every day will soon be Chicken Tender Tuesday with the new business moving into their location at 5907 Gull Rd.

They announced that their location will carry smash burgers, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, and hard-scooped ice cream.

It sounds like Cluck & Moo will be adopting everything that Rollup has offered and implementing their menu into the shop as well. The owners suggested you stop by this week and say goodbye to the old colors and rolled-up ice cream, as the grand opening of Cluck & Moo will be November 7 as it stands now.

Man, what a ride! It has been almost 7 years since the birth of Rollup Ice Cream & Tea. I remember the day I told my wife we were starting an ice cream shop; she thought I was crazy. As we evolved into much more than a rolled ice cream shop my vision has shifted along the way. Today we announce the ending of an era and the turning of a page.

There are lots of great local restaurants and eateries that opened up right before the pandemic, and not many of them were able to say that they could survive.

The fact that they made this work for so long through one of the most difficult times as a local business owner is a credit to their impact on the community. We wish them the best of luck going forward and look forward to this new business opening up soon.
