All across the country, people have been showing their support or protest of the border patrol’s presence in cities, which many argue have no reason to have such a presence. Many people are planning protests and even school walkouts in protest of the removal of ICE from their cities.

The United Latino Student Association of Lakeview High School has organized the walkout event, which will take place at 1:25 PM, according to the post they made on Instagram:

Lakeview High School students will walkout on February 20th to protest against ICE & PEACE. At 1:25pm students will walk down to Helmer Rd / Columbia Ave. We encourage all schools in Battle Creek to join us and support our community.

They have indicated that students will meet at the flagpole to walk over to Helmer Road, and there will be police on scene, but strictly for the safety of the students.

They’re calling for more students to join the protest and saying that those who are not from Lakeview can park at their parking lot if they would like to join the protest.

The ULSA has said that as long as they don’t cause any problems, there will be no consequences for anybody who participates.
