Captain Sundae’s Beloved Wooden Captain Statue Destroyed In Overnight Vandalism

The beloved ice cream shop Captain Sundae in Holland is looking for any information that will result in the capture of people who are responsible for destroying their beloved Captain statue outside of their Douglas Street location.

Captain Sundae is a favorite local destination for ice cream in Holland, which opened up in 1980, which is why there is such outrage that their carved statue that sits outside of their ice cream parlor was recently tipped over and destroyed, and was caught all on camera, which you can watch the video below.

Now they’re asking the community to try and help piece together who possibly could’ve done this. Luckily, with the help of their friends at Cross Country Cycle across the street, it looks as though there is a second person or more waiting and watching for the person to tip over the statue.

Police officers are currently investigating the vandalism, and sadly, the statue is permanently destroyed. The employee said that unfortunately, because the statue is 20 years old and has been weathered throughout the years, the vandalism caused the statue to fracture all the way through.

They said that it was falling apart when they moved it, and there is no way to repair it. You can see the video they captured below:
