The Chicago Cubs are set to open the season on the road once again. Getting the start opening day will be the Cubs ace, Jon Lester.

According to WGN, this will be fourth time in 5 years that Lester will be the opening day starter for the Cubs.   The only time was when Jake Arrieta started in Anaheim in 2016.

Lester will get the start in Arlington as the Cubs will take on the Texas Rangers on March 28th.  Lester was 18-6 with a 3.32 ERA last season.

The Cubs are coming off a season ending wild card game loss to the Colorado Rockies.  They ended up in the Wild Card game by losing to their division rivals, the Milwaukee Brewers in a one game playoff for the division.

Can they return to the post season again this season?   They open the season in Texas, their home opener at Wrigley Field will be Monday, April 8th against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
