The Chicago Cubs, who played a dominant regular season, has struggled in their series against the LA Dodgers to capture the National League pennant. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has released a performance of 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' to support the team.

The Orchestra is lead by Maestro Muti and performed the traditional Tin Pan Alley song that dates back to 1908. The first performance at a major league game came at the 1934 World Series during Game 4 between the eventual champion St. Louis Cardinals and the Detroit Tigers.

The Full Version of Take Me Out To the Ballgame

The version popularly performed is just the chorus of the song. There are two other versus to 'Take me Out to the Ballgame' that are rarely heard.

The Cubs Song the Orchestra Should Have Played

Sure, hearing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' might conjure up memories of Harry Carey hanging out of the WGN broadcast booth with his over-sized blue glasses Budweiser-belching out the song with the bleacher bums, but the true Chicago Cubs team song is the Steve Goodman-penned 'Go, Cubs, Go' written in 1984.

Hey Chicago, what do you say?
