There's a new ice cream shoppe coming to Comstock and it brings business back to a long-closed building on Michigan Avenue.

Comstock Creamery is opening in the building that once was home to Comstock Beer Service along Michigan Avenue at 26th Street.

Comstock Creamery describes themselves as a "nostalgic ice cream parlor" that will feature

artisan batch ice creams made in house. With all the traditional flavors like vanilla, chocolate, orange creamcicle and blue moon to the more interesting and experimental recipes such as lemon poppy seed, lavender shortbread or chili pepper

You can see a little of their progress on the Creamery's Instagram page. There is no opening date set yet for Comstock Creamery.

If you go Googling Comstock Creamery you'll find, as we did, that there is a Comstock Creamery in Wisconsin selling lots and lots of cheese. This small Comstock is in the middle of nowhere between Eau Clare and Superior.

What Happened to Comstock Beer Service

The building that will be home to Comstock Creamery was once Comstock Beer Service. That party store closed in the summer of 2013. Due to its proximity to the old school off 26th Street, there are lots of memories of stopping by for bottles of pop. Reminisce with this tread on the Vanished Kalamazoo Facebook group.
