One of Michigan’s Most Popular Brands of Ice Cream Recall 17,000 Tubs
The last thing any ice cream company wants is to issue a massive recall, especially if you get into summer in Michigan. Many ice cream places are already seeing a massive influx of people visiting in the evenings, getting their favorite ice creams.
Likewise, stores are all stocked up with ice cream, getting people ready for the warm summer weather, but one company is having to recall over 17,000 tubs of ice cream.

The Food and Drug Administration recently announced that there was a recall initiated back on April 25 for Wells Enterprises–manufactured ice cream products that are based in Iowa.
There were 103 facilities affected by the recall that produce popular brands like Blue Bunny, Halo Top, Bomb Pop, and Blue Ribbon Classics. It’s a Class II recall, meaning that using products or exposure to them could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.
There was no formal press release delivered with the recall, but the FDA has released information on 22 products that all come in 3-gallon tubs that indicate that foreign material, plastic may be present in the ice cream products themselves.
With over 22 products, there are different recall numbers and PC codes to go with them, that you can see for yourself by visiting the FDA page here. As it appears now, anything outside of a 3 gallon tub is safe, but you will definitely want to check and make sure you don’t have one of these in your freezer.
Flavors like Rocky Road, Mocha Almond Fudge, Peanut Butter 'N Fudge, Country Rich Vanilla and many others were affected.
