There’s one lake in Michigan where you can buy a hot dog while swimming in the sandbar. The sandbar at Manitou Beach- Devil’s Lake in Lenawee County has a permanent fixture between Memorial Day and Labor Day where you can get hot dogs served fresh while you enjoy your swim.

Eric Funk, who owns Funky Dogs LLC, was sick of missing the Fourth of July festivities spent on the sandbar with his friends while serving hot dogs on land.

That is when he got the idea to convert a car and a pontoon boat to create something super unique to Michigan. It acts as a floating hot dog stand, called Wieners on the Water, and it has now become a permanent fixture on the lake as he describes his experiences in a recent video:

I thought, man, if I could serve hot dogs at the sandbar, I’d be the greatest thing ever, so I got an idea. I went and started looking at pontoon boats; I started looking at hot dog carts. That’s how I came up with our Wieners on the Water, and my friend said, "You never make anything simple; surprise us," so I bought a 1992 Chevy box van, took the chassis off it, and put on a pontoon boat, and history's being made as we speak.

What Hot Dogs Do Weiners on the Water sell?

They only have 3 kinds: an Old School, which is simply ketchup, mustard, and relish. Their Mac Dog, which has macaroni, bacon bits, and BBQ, and their version of a coney called The Funky Dog.
