Fear of missing out is a real thing, and for the hapless Beck Bennett, he's desperately trying to catch up with his buds on New Year's Eve as they bounce from bar to bar in a Saturday Night Live digital short titled "New Year's Kiss." The skit, featuring Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, didn't make it to air this past weekend, but showed up on the official SNL YouTube channel.

At one point, while chasing down the bro-tastic Kyle Mooney and crew, Bennett receives some assistance from a sage wolf man who let's him pass through a portal to an "underground speakeasy spot." The scythe-wielding creature is played by none other than Dave Grohl, and for Bennett to pass, he must whisper in the ear of the "wolf looking guard guy" a secret he's never told anyone before. Bennett obliges, with Grohl telling him, "That was very brave of you to share...happy New Year's," then lets him go through a portal.

Unfortunately, by the time Bennett gets to the location, Mooney and the rest have already departed, so he has to hightail it back to the original spot to retrieve his midnight kiss from Kendra. It looks like he's going to make it, but at the last second everyone disappears to a house party, and he ultimately misses out.

Foo Fighters were the musical guest for this week's episode, which was the mid-season finale. There to plug their latest effort, Concrete and Gold, the band performed a raucous version of the single "The Sky Is a Neighborhood," which can be viewed below.

Returning for their second segment, Grohl performed the 1997 hit song "Everlong" solo - clad in an ugly Christmas sweater no less - before the rest of the group joined in for an uptempo take on the holiday classic “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” before closing out with a rendition of “Linus and Lucy” from A Charlie Brown Christmas. The medley can be viewed below as well.
