Detroit Funeral Home Under Investigation After Family Says Wrong Body Cremated
Police are investigating a situation involving a funeral home in Detroit, where a family is saying a woman’s body was mistakenly cremated, and the funeral home then allegedly dressed up another person‘s body to look like her for her funeral.
Can you imagine walking into a funeral home preparing to grieve your lost loved one, and as you approach them to make your final peace, you walk up and realize it’s some random stiff you’ve never seen before dressed up in your loved one's clothes?

That’s exactly what one family says they are currently dealing with, according to a report from Fox 2's Jessica Dupnack, in a Facebook post that details these disturbing accusations.
Now, I’m no lawyer, but something about the screams malpractice, and I would have to imagine that there could be a lawsuit in place, especially if their loved one requested they’d be buried and not cremated.
It also makes me wonder about funeral homes, and whether or not they keep spare bodies around just in case they need one for a funeral. Like, do they try to keep a wide variety of selections to fit as many descriptions as possible?
I just don’t see how you could morally do the old switcheroo at a funeral.
The family of a 61-year-old Kimberly Moore tells us that when they went to a funeral home in Detroit Friday for her viewing, the person in the casket was not their loved one. They say the funeral home dressed up a stranger‘s body in Moore's clothing. At this point, the family is saying they were told more was accidentally cremated earlier this month. The funeral home is located on Detroit Eastside and has not released a statement publicly on the alleged to situation.
