For those of you who are fans of the largest brewery on the east side, Atwater Brewery, you may want to stock up on their beers. Detroit's largest brewery, Atwater Brewery announced on Wednesday January 22nd that it has been sold to Molson Coors' U.S. craft beer division. Atwater Owner Mark Rieth, however, suggest there's no need for alarm in the press release:

The agreement with Tenth and Blake is both the culmination of our past and the catapult to our future. For Atwater to continue to grow, it will require both capital and brewing expertise. Tenth and Blake brings both, which makes them the ideal strategic partner to help us continue to live our mantra 'Born in Detroit. Raised Everywhere.

The breweries most popular beers are Dirty Blonde, Vanilla Java Porter, Purple Gang Pilsner, and Pog-O-Licious IPA. The terms of the sale weren't disclosed in the presser, and the transaction is expected to be completed in the next couple of months. Luckily, it doesn't look like it will affect the beer production.
