Double-A Pitcher Named Tigers Minor League Player of The Year
The future for the Detroit Tigers is in the minor leagues and recently one of their top pitching prospects was named Tigers Minor League Player of the Year.
According to Bless You Boys, Baseball America has named Erie Seawolves Pitcher, Matt Manning as Tigers Minor League Player of The Year.
Manning was the Tigers first round pick in the 2016 draft. Manning currently is in Double A Erie with other top Tigers pitching prospects like Casey Mize, Tarik Skubal and Alex Faedo.
He holds a 2.46 ERA, which is fifth lowest in the Double A leagues. He is also the strike out leader in the Eastern League with 142.
Manning should be one of the go to starters for the Seawolves as they are currently in a playoff spot in the Eastern League.
If the Seawovles can hold on to their division lead they should be in the playoffs which would begin on September 4th.
