Over the weekend my wife and I had the chance to see Motown The Musical at Wharton Center in East Lansing.   My wife really wanted to see it so we just decided to get tickets and go.

The show is based on the autobiography from Motown founder, Berry Gordy.  It goes through the history of the label and the people and artist who were apart of it.

All the big names are a part of the show, Berry Gordy, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson Five, even Rick James makes a minor appearance.

As you would expect with a show about Motown, it features many hits of the label through out it's history.   All the major songs are featured through out this show.

If I had one complaint, it's that most of the songs are shortened.  I get that they had to do this to fit all the major songs into the show.

I liked the show and if you are a fan of Motown or music history check it out.   Make sure to mark your calendar as it will be in Kalamazoo at Miller Auditorium next May.
