National Park Week is in progress and  according to CNN, the National Park Service has waived entrance fees for this week.

The fees will be waived now through this Sunday, April 24th.   Only a third of the 411 national parks charge entrance fees, mostly the big ones like the Grand Canyon in Arizona and Denali in  Alaska.

We are blessed in Michigan with some great parks, Isle Royale, Pictured Rocks, Sleeping Bear Dunes, also one of the newest parks River Raisin National Battlefield in Monroe, just to name a few.

This year the National Park Service turns 100 so look out for lots of events scheduled through out the year.
